When we make search in computer then it takes time, but when we search on Google it take seconds, not seconds it takes milliseconds, But How? One thing is true it can't be faster than your own computer's storage? Now we know that Our question is good, but we also know it can't be faster then our own computer. Then what is the truth?
Basic Logic:
A search engine is use basically crawler system, means it consist indexes. Now crawler just crawl the web. It go from one to another by using links, that's why link building is very important part of SEO. If you wanna show your website then it need links, so linked it with another.
After crawling now it index the page content. What it mean? Indexing means processing and parsing the data on the page, and then saving it in a statistical, more meaningful form, something which the search engine can understand easily. This data is saved on the search provider's web server.
After doing all these now Google re-crawl and re-index each and every second. Whenever a user request then Google don't make search in web, it just search in indexes.
How You can do This:
But it is still faster than computer, now another factors come in action like data structure algorithms, big server to store indexes and big processors. You can apply algorithm in your computer too, you can't buy a big storage and can't but a big processor, money is not issue. Reason is we don't need them. But you can do one thing that is defragmentation. It it very useful in optimization of local drives. It make indexes and make search fast.
